Poetry Political Broadcast
Roll up, roll up,
And place your bets;
Choose red or black,
Vice or debt?
The plug’s been pulled,
The whirlpool sucks;
A race to the bottom,
It’s chickens or cocks.
Heads we're fucked,
or tails we lose;
Cast your votes,
And field your blues.
So stupid with Facebook,
Stupid with memes,
Stupid with Netflix,
And stupid with tech.
Stupid with sugar,
And stupid with fat,
Stupid with tv,
It’s stupid,
Plus VAT.
Whether it’s; “Things can only get better!”
Or “Yes we can!”
“Make America great!”
Green eggs and ham.
Scared of our shadows
We bury them fast,
Then nail their likeness,
To the mast.
Are you joking?
Jesus wept!
For crying out loud.
How many more times?
Our impotence crows.
We’re enamoured of fake tits,
And celebrity fools;
Dressed for success,
Are the schoolyard ghouls.
Your money devalues,
The weather gets worse,
And we will bail out the bankers,
Once again!
So perverse.
We’re better than this,
And yet we are stuck.
Waiting for someone,
Or something,
Or luck.
It’s all over folks,
This way, it is doomed.
We must gather our wits,
And break through the rules.
Because the game is flawed:
The winners all mad;
Every granny knows it,
And your girlfriend's dad.
You can wait forever,
There will be no change;
It’s inside where the fault lies
Deep and strange.
So become yourself,
Whatever than means,
However it looks,
As unlikely as it seems.
Regain your sovereignty.
With compassion,
Be kind.
Purify the body,
The soul,
The mind.
So it is below,
As it is above.
Re-member what’s right,
Move now,
From love.
